BCCI Announces India A Squad for Two First-Class Matches Against Australia A

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-member India A squad for their upcoming tour of Australia. The young and talented team will be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad and will compete in two first-class matches against Australia A and a three-day intra-squad game against the senior Indian men’s team.

The tour will serve as a crucial opportunity for India A players to showcase their skills and potentially earn a place in the senior Indian team. With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia just around the corner, the performances of India A players in these matches could play a significant role in the selection process for the Test series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad Takes Charge:

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the talented right-handed batsman, has been appointed as the captain of the India A squad for the Australia tour. Gaikwad has been in impressive form in domestic cricket and has also made appearances for the Indian national team. His leadership qualities and batting prowess will be invaluable to the team.

Ishan Kishan Returns:

Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been included in the India A squad after being removed from the BCCI Contracted Players List earlier this year. Kishan has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and has also represented India in international matches. His inclusion in the India A squad is a positive sign for his future prospects.

Strong Squad Announced:

The BCCI has selected a strong and balanced India A squad for the Australia tour. The team includes several promising young players who have the potential to make a significant impact in the future. The squad also features experienced players who can provide guidance and support to the younger members.

Schedule:

  • October 31 – November 3: 1st first-class match vs Australia A – GBRA, Mackay
  • November 7-10: 2nd first-class match vs Australia A – MCG, Melbourne
  • November 15-17: Intra-squad match vs Team India (Senior Men) – WACA, Perth

Border-Gavaskar Trophy Looms:

The India A tour of Australia comes ahead of the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The five-Test series will begin on November 22 in Perth, with Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney hosting the other four Tests.

India A Squad:

Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Abhimanyu Easwaran (VC), Sai Sudharsan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Baba Indrajith, Ishan Kishan (WK), Abishek Porel (WK), Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Yash Dayal, Navdeep Saini, Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian

The India A tour of Australia promises to be an exciting one, with plenty of opportunities for young players to showcase their talent and potentially earn a place in the senior Indian team. With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy just around the corner, the performances of India A players on this tour will be closely watched by fans and experts alike.
