BCCI secretary Jay Shah made the announcement on social media, stating, “We are introducing prize money for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all Women’s and Junior Cricket tournaments under our Domestic Cricket Programme. Additionally, prize money will be awarded for the Player of the Match in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments for Senior Men.”
This initiative is part of the BCCI’s ongoing efforts to enhance the domestic cricket structure and provide incentives for players to excel at all levels. This scheme aims to encourage players to prioritize Test cricket and contribute to India’s success in the longer format.
